  • ROBERT SEALE, Executive Director (CANADA)
    Founder and former President of Fight Directors, Canada, Robert has more than 300 professional fight direction credits on stage and screen. A graduate of the National Theatre School in Montreal, Robert holds a Master's Degree summa cum laude in Performance, and since 1980 has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels on the faculties of numerous post-secondary institutions. He has been a professional since 1974, appearing in over 150 leading roles in the major theatres across Canada, and in the U.S. Besides private teaching, Robert does professional consultation, choreography and stunt work for stage and film through his company, Fights Unlimited, for such groups as the National Ballet, Shaw Festival, National Arts Centre, Canadian Opera Company, the World Theatre Congress, and both the Toronto and Atlantic Film Festivals. He is a member of the Atlantic Advisory Council for Actor's Equity (CAEA), and currently resides in Charlottetown, PEI, with his partner Lisa and their third offspring, Ronan.

  • JENNIFER SIMMONS, Director of Communications (USA)
    Having worked in the communications field since 1997, Jennifer is currently Manager of Communications for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy in Washington, D.C., where she edits their national magazine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Journalism from James Madison University in Virginia, and has worked for the IOSP since 1999.

  • DAVID BOUSHEY, Director of Stunt Liason (USA)
    Founder of the Society of American Fight Directors, the United Stuntmens' Association and Coordinator for the International Stunt School (the foremost stunt school in North America), David has taught for 15 years with the University of Washington's Professional Actors' Training Program as a Master Teacher, and has taught combat and movement at more than 100 colleges and universities throughout North America. He has been a stuntman and stunt coordinator for over 45 feature and television films, including Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure and Drugstore Cowboy. He has choreographed over 350 productions in theatre and is the recipient of the Los Angeles Critics Award for Best Fight Choreography for 1981, '85 and '91.

  • DANIEL FORD BEAVIS, Associate Director Stunt Liaison (CANADA)
    Daniel has been working in the stage combat and film industry since 1996. He is currently an instructor at the International Stunt School in Seattle, where he is also an alumni. A member of the IOSP since they first came to Banff in 1999, he has been happy to have the organization's "Paddy" workshop in his half of Canada for the last four years. Daniel has recently done the fight choreography for the Saskatoon Opera's Carmen, followed by Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan's As You Like It. He is currently working on the feature films Caught in the Headlights and Hollywood Flys. In his spare time he manages his bar, O'Shea's Irish Pub in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
  • KYNA HAMILL, Director of Research (CANADA)
    Originally from Canada, Kyna is completing her Ph.D. dissertation at Tufts University in Boston. She also has theatre degrees from the University of Ottawa and the University of Alberta. She has been a participant in the International Paddy Crean Workshop in 1999 and 2000 at Banff, and was an assistant teacher in 2001. Her research areas include violence as entertainment, the Italian commedia dell'arte and the history of staged combat. She teaches stage combat and does some fight directing in the Boston area, as well as teaching dramatic literature at Emerson College. Her book, They Fight: Classical to Contemporary Stage Fight Scenes was just published by Smith and Kraus.
  • FELICITY STEEL, Director of Event Planning (AUSTRALIA)
    Felicity has been a professional actor more than 25 years, and a member of the Society of Australian Fight Directors, Inc. since 1996. Additionally, she is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors, the IOSP and the American Society of Fight Directors. Felicity has served as Head of Movement at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London for two years, and Drama Coach for The Australian Film and Television Academy. Her fight choreography and teaching credits include Melbourne Theatre Co, Sydney Theatre Co., The Parramatta Riverside Theatre, NIDA, VCA and The Australian Ballet. She taught at the Australian National Stage Combat Workshop in July 2002, and at The National Workshop "Combatuere" in July 2003.
  • NIGEL POULTON, On-Site Coordinator, The Paddy in Oz 2004 (AUSTRALIA)
    Nigel is an Actor, Fight Director, Stage Combat/Movement Instructor and Clown who has worked nationally and internationally. He is Vice-President of the Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc. where he is a registered Instructor and Fight Director, and is also certified with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. Nigel has been the Company Fight Director for the Bell Shakespeare Company's 2003 season, and has choreographed for the Washington Opera Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre Company, Playbox Theatre (Melbourne), La Boite Theatre (Brisbane), Kooemba Jdarra (Brisbane), as well as for short and feature films. In 2002, Nigel performed with the Washington Opera Company, choreographing and performing in Othello and Tosca on their tour to Japan. He studied and taught various martial and combat systems for more than 15 years, and is a graduate of the Actors Conservatory in Brisbane.
