International Order of the Sword & Pen

From IOSP

A simple gathering of friends, getting together to celebrate and encourage an international exchange of safe stage combat techniques and process, historical martial arts and styles, contemporary martial arts and theory, and the development of cooperation and skill, exploring the history and traditions of the past and the camaraderie found in the sharing of ideas and knowledge of the Sword and the Pen.

Our hope is to create a forum in which to explore the movement art forms of the past and present, and establish a living library to preserve the international body of research that is found in the study of the Art of the Sword.

Daniel Ford Beavis writes:
Hi Everyone! I've been in Seattle teaching for the last new weeks and some of you may have already heard that the Paddy Crean workshop is going to be held again in Banff, Canada this year!

For those of you that don't know much about it, I credit it as the most influencial workshop I have taken, as it was directly due to being at the workshop that Dave Boushey invited me to first come back to the stunt school and start teaching, starting my career as a stunt performer, fight director and teacher.

We are focusing on various types of combat for stage and film this year, with a highlight on the process of how the information has been passed from generation to generation. I know that a lot of you are going to want to know who is teaching for sure, but at this time, we are still waiting for teachers to confirm, and as they do, I will pass the information along to you all. Those who have been there before know that it doesn't always matter who is teaching as there is always something to learn. Hope to see you there!
